She was a graduate of Charleston High School in Charleston, S.C. She worked ten years for Greer Drugs. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Friendship Baptist church.Surviving are, one daughter, Wanda Cleveland Gause of Summerville; three sons and daughters-in-law, David R. and Tammy S. Cleveland of Summerville, Tim D. Cleveland of Charlotte, N.C., Keith and Robin B. Cleveland of Cottageville; four brothers, Jake W. Dempsey of Summerville, Raymond E. Dempsey of Summerville, Robert Dempsey of Branchville, Gene Dempsey of Hanahan; one sister, Nancy Dempsey Wiggins of Summerville; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and Pheobe.She was predeceased by her brothers, Heyward "Red" Dempsey, Jr., and Jack Dempsey.Arrangements by JAMES A.
