Esther Denus (Nathaniel), Mr. Joe Gilchrist (Janice), Mrs. Andora Alston (Steve), Mrs. Maraglene 
Gilchrist (Adule), Mr. Michael Gilchrist (Michelle), Mrs. Pam Witherspoon (Nehmiah), and Mr. 
James Gilchrist, all of Awendaw, S.C., the sister of Mrs. Emily Collin (Fonza), Mrs. Hester

9, 2001, 2:30 p.m., at Mt. Nebo AME Church, 5600 N. Hwy. 17, Awendaw, 
S.C., Rev. Arthur Lee Holmes, Pastor. Interment, church cemetery. Mrs. 
Gilchrist is survived by her children, Mr. Willie Grant (Ossie), Mr. 
Johnny Grant (Idamae), Mrs. Dorothy Weeks (Cliff), Mrs. Elizabeth 
Browdy (Cornelius), Mrs. Esther Duenas (Nathaniel), Mr. Joe Gilchrist 
(Janice), Mrs. Andora Alston (Steve), Mrs. Maraglene Gilchrist (Adule),
Mr. Michael Gilchrist (Michelle), Mrs. Pam Witherspoon (Nehemiah), and 
Mr. James Gilchrist, 35 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, her 
sisters, Mrs. Emily Collins (Fonza), Mrs. Hester Bennett (Henry), Mrs. 
Ernestine Gilliard (Cleophas), Mrs. Gladys Grant, Mrs. Lucille Green 
(Benjamin), Mrs. Mary Williams (Freddie), and Mr. Joseph Grant, her 
aunt, Mrs. Emily Mack, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, 
and other relatives and friends. Viewing for Mrs. Gilchrist will be at 
the WILLIAM M. SMITH MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2 Radcliffe St., Charleston, S.C.
, on Friday, June 8, 2001, from 2 to 7 p.m. Family will receive friends
