Church Cemetery, Richburg. Dr. Tom Paterson officiated. Mr. Cauthen, 82, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, at his residence. A native of Richburg, he was a son of the late Durham A. Cauthen and Alma McFadden Cauthen. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retiree of Hoechst-Celanese Corp. with 30 years of service and was a member of Woodhaven Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mozelle Brakefield Cauthen of the home; two sons, William “Buck” Cauthen Jr. of North Wilkesboro, N.C., and Bruce Cauthen of Rock Hill; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Hamilton of Chester; and eight grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care Inc., 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, S.C. 29730.
