Bobby Lee Smith (U.S. Air Force, Ret.), 65, of North Charleston, died Wednesday in an Anderson nursing facility. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday in CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME. Burial with military honors will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Mr. Smith was born in Birmingham, Ala., and was of the Pentecostal Faith. Survivors include his wife, Laverne Jennings Smith; daughters, Janet Marchiani and Susan Sweety, both of Canyon City , Colo., Carolyn Crissinger of Atlanta, Ga., Geri Young of St. Augustine, Fla., and Frieda Kohlmeyer of Summerville; a son, Dennis Trantham of Charleston; sisters, Ruby Casey, Gracie Bailey and Barbara Malone all of Birmingham, Ala.; brothers, Harold Smith and Clyde Smith, both of Birmingham, Ala., and Homer Smith of Sumter; grandchildren, Jessie Smith, James Smith, Cathy Amell and Bailey Marchiani. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2001, at Carolina Memorial Funeral HOme.
