He was born Friday January 27, 1950 in Charleston the son of Arthur Henry and Gilda Spalviero Brouthers. Mr. Brouthers graduated from Charleston High School class of 1969. He was a retired insurance agent with Principle Mutual Life Insurance Company. He worked with the band ``The Rivieras'' and was a member of the Charleston Shag Club ofr over 17 years, a charter member of The Islanders Shag Club and a faithful patron of J B Pivots.The relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 7:00 PM Thursday June 21, 2001 at the JAMES A. MCALISTER FUNERAL HOME, 1620 SAVANNAH HWY. A Celebration of his life will be held at 8:30 PM Thursday evening at J B Pivots, 1662 Savannah Hwy, Ye Olde Town Shopping Village. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a son,Richard ``Ricky'' H. Brouthers, Jr. of Cottageville; three sisters, Martha Brouthers of Charleston, Mary B. Sponar and Patricia B. Holliday both of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers, Arthur H. Brouthers, III of Charleston, John L. Brouthers of Myrtle Beach and Paul J. Brouthers of Summerville; a stepson, Kenneth M. Rohner and his wife Sherry and their children Kai andMilayla all of Charleston.
