The relatives and friends of Marvin Benton are invited to attend his funeral services at J. Henry Stuhr's, Inc., Greenridge Road Chapel, Friday morning June 22, 2001, at 9 o'clock. Interment, Whispering Pines Memorial gardens with Military Honors. Friends may call at Stuhr's Greenridge Road Chapel this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. Mr. Benton was born in Charleston, SC on February 24, 1930 the son of Marvin Benton and Lilla Clark Benton. He was a retired Turbine Operator with South Carolina Electric and Gas Company at Plant Hagood, a veteran of the US Army and a V. F. W. member. Surviving are one son, Mendel Benton of Summerville SC and one daughter, Donna B. Miller of N. Charleston, SC, two brothers, Robert Benton of Charleston, SC and LeRoy Benton of Ravenel, SC; two sisters, Betty Jones of Charleston, SC and Helen Ruth Speer of Kenly, NC; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
