Paul Fay Beard, 81, of Bamberg, S.C., died June 14, 2001, at a Bamberg 
nursing center. Born September 30, 1919, in Bamberg, he was the son of 
the late Thomas D. Beard and late Mary Kearse Beard. He was a member 
of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, Ehrhardt, S.C., and a retired farmer. 
Memorial service will be 2 p.m., June 24, 2001, at Colston Branch 
Baptist Church. Survivors include, one sister, Martha Brooks, one 
nephew, Hugh Beard. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sease 
Beard, formerly of Bamberg, Barron Beard of Jacksonville, Fla.; four 
sisters, Julie Wienges, Katherine Wienges, both formerly of Folly Beach,
S.C., Gladys Holt, formerly of San Diego, Calif., and Mary Webster, 
formerly of Buen Park, Calif. Memorials may be made to the Colston 
Baptist Church, Route 2, Bamberg, S.C. 29003.   (The Post and Courier
