Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sauls Funeral Home, Ridgeland, with burial in Gum Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Gum Branch, Ga. Mrs. Woods was born September 2, 1931, in Gum Branch, Ga., a daughter of Ralph Howard Groover and Betty Todd Groover. She was a homemaker and formerly employed as a nurse for Dr. T.B. Carroll in Hardeeville. She was a member of the Maye River Baptist Church in Bluffton. Survivors include her husband, Horace B. Woods of Ridgeland; four sons, Horace B. "Woody" Woods III of Clayton, N.C, Roger D. Woods of Pritchardville, and Carl W. Woods and Darrell B. Woods of Ridgeland; a daughter, Debora W. Butler of Hardeeville; two brothers, R. Hillis Groover of Orlando, Fla., and Darrell B. Groover of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; three sisters, Mavis Tootle of Beaufort, Virginia DeLoach of Garden City, Ga., and Patricia Smiley of Savannah; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests those who wish make memorials to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, Ill. 60018.
