Carmel AME Church of Hemingway. Interment will follow in the St. Mark Cemetery. Rev. Glennie Tisdale, Pastor, will conduct the religious service. NESMITH- PINCKNEY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.Mr. Weaver entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 8, 2001, at an area hospital after injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born January 27, 1948, in Williamsburg County. Son of the late John and Rhodia Prosky Weaver. He was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg, County. He later moved to New York City.He was employed as a garment cutter and was one of the first in the garment district in New York. He was joined in holy wedlock to Octavia Cooper. To this union four children were born. Two preceded him in death (Tyrone and Sherise.)Those who are left to cherish her memories are, his wife, Octavia Weaver of Hemingway ; one daughter, Wanda (Michael) Nichols of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; one son, Lavell Weaver of Hemingway; five sisters, Shirley Wilson of Boston, Mass., Will Commodore Gulley, and Annie Pecolla Brown, both of New York City, Bertha Mae Session and Victoria Wright, both of Hemingway; five grandchildren.
