Waugh, Jr., 52, of Goose Creek, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday evening, July 2, 2001. The funeral service will be 12 noon on Friday, July 6, 2001, at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL. Burial at sea by the U.S. Navy has been arranged. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. A native of Aurora, Ill., he was the son of Thomas E. (Sr.) and Marjorie Magee Waugh. A graduate of Sarasota High School in Florida, he joined the Navy in 1969, and retired as a Chief Electricians Mate in 1989. He was an electrician at Encompass-Atlantic Electric Inc. in Charleston. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carol Comerford Waugh, his son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Carroll Waugh and his daughter, Heather Waugh, all of Goose Creek. In addition, his twin sister, Peggy McClain of Jacksonville, N.C., his sisters, Rita Reader of N. Aurora, Ill., Joan McLendon, Garner, N.C., and Patricia Connell of Florida, also survive. Memorials are suggested to heart or diabetes research at the MUSC Health Sciences Foundation, 18 Bee St., P.O. Box 250450, Charleston, S.C. 29401.
