TITLE: Nelson Taylor SOURCE: The Post and Courier, Juen 28, 2001 SUBMITTED: The Post and Courier FORMATTED: Kim Grissom, June 2001 *********************************************************************************************** TAYLOR, Nelson MCCLELLANVILLE - Nelson William Taylor, 87, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Sandpiper Convalescent Center in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Taylor was born in Groton, Mass., on November 10, 1913, a son of the late Herbert W. Taylor and Eva Torrey Taylor. He grew up in Massachusetts and served in the Army Air Corps with the 8th Air Force during World War II. He attended the University of Vermont and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry. Mr. Taylor was retired from the U.S. Forestry Service with the Wambaw District. He was a member of Wren's Chapel United Methodist Church and the widower of Elizabeth Harriett Blanchard Taylor, who died in 1991. Surviving are, a brother, Fred H. Taylor of South Burlington, Vt.; two sisters, Mary T. Barnard of Amherst, Mass., and Ruth T. Seitz of Pelham, Mass.; four nephews; two nieces; seven grand-nephews; and four grand-nieces. Memorial services will be Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the graveside in Wren's Chapel United Methodist Churchyard near McClellanville. Officiating will be the Rev. Carol B. Grant. Inurnment will follow under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME. The family suggests memorials to the Archibald Rutledge Academy, P.O. Box 520, McClellanville, S.C. 29458.
