She was born in Florence, S.C., a daughter of Joel Evander and Willa Snow Powell Hanna. She was a former member of the Girl Scouts, attended the Palmetto Girls State, attended Agnes Scott College, and was an Agnes Scott Scholar, was a member of Phi Beta, was a graduate of Francis Marion College, and a member of the Beta Club. She was a Charter member of the Trinity E.P.C. Church were she was a former Sunday school teacher. She attended St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Hemingway, S.C., where she was a youth leader for the St. Paul Junior High group. She was active in the "Adopt-a-child" program. She was the owner and operator of Angel Food Catering of Pamlico, S.C., and was employed as a Rural Letter Carrier for the USPS and was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Assoc. Surviving are her husband, William H. Swintz, III, of Johnsonville, S.C.; a son, William H. Swintz, IV, of Johnsonville; her parents, Joel E. and Willa Powell Hanna of Florence, S.C.; two sisters, Jan (Craig) Howard of Hattisburg, Miss., and Penny (Kelvin) Crimminger of Columbia, S.C.; one brother, Evan (Hope) Hanna of Florence, S.C.; and eight nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to W.M.H.K. Christian Radio Station, P.O. Box 3122, Columbia, S.C. 29230. The family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at STOUDENMIRE-DOWLING FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, in the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Florence. Burial will follow in Soules Chapel Cemetery in Gresham, S.C., directed by STOUDENMIRE-DOWLING FUNERAL HOME of Florence.
