Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 24, 2001, Dorothy 
Burrus Strobel, wife of Cdr. James W. Strobel, (U.S. Navy, retired), 
residence, Charleston, S.C. The relatives and friends of Cdr. and Mrs. 
James W. Strobel are invited to attend her funeral services, Friday, 
July 27, 2001, at 11 o'clock in St. James Episcopal Church, James 
Island. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at J. HENRY 
STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Thursday evening between 5 and 7 o'clock.
Mrs. Strobel was born August 12, 1922, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter 
of William Deacon and Norma Schinzel Deacon. She served with the U.S. 
Navy during W.W.II. She is survived by her husband of Charleston, S.C.;
two daughters, Cheryl B. Flood of Rye, N.Y., and Candy J. Strobel of 
Charleston, S.C.; one son, Matthew A. Burrus of Florida; three 
grandchildren, Deane H. Flood, Jr., Sean E. Flood and Andrew J. 
Strobel and two great grandchildren. Her first husband, Edward A. 
Burrus, her son Eric E. Burrus and her grandson Eric Wesley Flood, 
predeceased her. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eric 
Wesley Flood Memorial Scholarship Fund, 882 Boston Post Road, Rye,
