STEED, JR., James Entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 28, 2001,
Mr. James Steed, Jr. Residence, 1084 Roosevelt Road, Awendaw, S.C. He 
was the devoted husband of Rev. Anna Lee Steed. He was the devoted 
father of Mrs. Elizabeth M. Holloway (Willie), Mrs. Mary A. Johnson 
(Allen), Mr. James Steed, III (Rosa), Mrs. Shirley A. Richardson (
Edward), Ms. Donna F. Steed and Mr. Kenneth Holloway. The loving 
brother of Mrs. Ruth M. Gray, Ms. Elizabeth Steed, Mr. Kenneth Holloway
. The loving brother of Mrs. Ruth M. Gray, Ms. Elizabeth Steed, Mr. 
Edward Steed, Mr. Maxie Steed (Mae), Mr. Bryant Steed, Mr. Arthur Steed
(Kathleen), and Mr. J. Sherald Steed. The nephew of Mrs. Louise Coaxum,
the brother-in-law of Mr. Fred Thompson (Kathean), Mr. Isaih Thompson, 
Mr. Herbert E. Thompson, Mr. Roosevelt Thompson (Ella Louise), Mrs. 
Susan Middleton (Samuel) and Mrs. Mary Kinlock (Luther). Mr. Steed is 
survived by ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. WM. M. SMITH

The relatives and friends of Mr. James Steed, Jr., are invited to 
attend his funeral services, Thursday, August 2, 2001, 2 p.m., at 
Union AME Church, Hwy. 17 North, Awendaw, Charleston, S.C. Interment, 
church cemetery. Mr. Steed is survived by his wife, Rev. Anna Lee 
Steed; his children, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Holloway (Willie), Mrs. Mary A. 
Johnson (Allen), Mr. James Steed, III (Rosa), Mrs. Shirly A. Richardson
(Edward), Ms. Donna F. Steed, and Mr. Kenneth Holloway; nine 
grandchildren, Mr. Allen Johnson, Jr., Mr. Cory Steed, Ms. Don'nah 
Holloway, Mr. Edward Richardson, Jr., Mr. Terrell Johnson, Ms. Bonita 
Steed, Mr. Eric Richardson, Mr. Antwan Johnson and Ms. Keisha Steed; 
one great-grandchild, Master George Holloway; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth 
Gray and Ms. Elizabeth Steed; five brothers, Mr. Maxie Steed (Mae), 
Mr. Edward Steed, Mr. Bryant Steed, Mr. J. Sherald Steed and Mr. 
Arthur Steed (Kathleen); two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Susan Middleton 
(Samuel) and Mrs. Mary Kinloch (Luther); four brothers-in-law, Mr. 
Fred Thompson (Kathean), Mr. Isaiah Thompson, Mr. Herbert Thompson, 
and Mr. Roosevelt Thompson (Ella Louise); one aunt, Mrs. Louise Coaxum;
two aunts-in-law, Mrs. Bernice Coaxum and Mrs. Elinor McNeal; a host 
of nieces and nephews. Viewing for Mr. Steed will be at the William M.
Smith Memorial Chapel, 2 Radcliffe St., Charleston, S.C., on Wednesday,
August 1, 2001, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The family will be receiving
