  SMITH, Horace Jr.
Horace Greely Smith, Jr., age 77, husband of Mary Suzanne Smith, died 
July 25, 2001 in a local hospital. Residence, 1900 Block of Jack Frost 
Road, VA, Beach, Virginia. He was born in Charleston, SC. He was a 
Commander in the United States Navy and a teacher at Virginia Beach 
School System. He was retired. Survivors are 2 daughters, Suzanne 
Smith Goodnight of Fredericksburg, VA., Laura Smith Fitzpatrick of 
Reston, VA., 1 son Col. Larry J. Smith,Ret of Vancouver, WA, 4 
grandchildren, Kirstin W. Smith, Steven E. Goodnight, Christopher 
Goodnight, and Collin E. Fitzpatrick. Funeral service will be held on 
Friday, July 27, 2001 at 9am at the Graveside-Columbarium. Place of 
burial: Arlington National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. 
HOLLOMAN-BROWN FUNERAL HOME BAYSIDE CHAPEL in charge of arrangements. 
The family will receive friends at the funeral hom Saturday, July 28, 
2001, 10am-3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to 
Davis Corner Rescue squad. (The Post and Courier July 27, 2001)
