The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight at Sauls Funeral Home, Ridgeland. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Level Baptist Church, Grays, with burial in Grimes Cemetery, Grays. Mrs. Smith was born Feb. 22, 1917, in Grays, a daughter of Isaac M. and Anna Dixon Tuten. She was a seamstress for Holiday Wear and a nurse's aide at the Jasper County General Hospital. She was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church in Grays, on the board of directors for Jasper County Senior Citizens and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are a son, M. Ralph Smith of Grays; two brothers, P.L. Tuten of Grays and Winfred M. Tuten of Okatie; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests that those who wish may make memorials to Palmetto Hospice, P.O. Box 1857, Bluffton, SC 29910.
