The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter, Dale Hadden, 13 Warren Court, Sumter. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Sibrans was born in Manning, a daughter of the Rev. Frederick Hawkins and Mary Whitmire Shuler. She graduated from the girls' high school in Sumter and attended Converse College in Spartanburg. She also was a graduate of the New Rochelle School of Nursing in New York and practiced as a registered nurse. She retired in 1976 from the Pageland School System. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church of Sumter. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Sibrans, M.D.; two sisters, Martha Plowden and Helen Hartman; and a brother, Frederick Shuler. Survivors include two sons, Dr. D.F. Sibrans of Decatur, Ala. and Rick S. Sibrans of Rock Hill; two daughters, Mary Kaye Laban of Beaufort and Dale Campbell Hadden of Sumter; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to The Federation for the Blind, 119 South Kilbourne Road, Columbia, SC 29205.
