The family will be at home, Roselawn Plantation, 2795 Revolutionary Trail, Allendale. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Health, Hospice. Post Office Box 1123, Bamberg, South Carolina 29003 or to the Swallow Savannah Cemetery Care of Margaret Moffet, 211 Burns Lane, Allendale, South Carolina 29810. Mr. Sharp died Monday afternoon at his residence in Allendale. Born in Akron, Alabama, he was the son of the late Don Carlos Sharp and Kathleen Wilson Sharp. He was a lifelong resident of Allendale; a member of the Allendale Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and a past Superintendent of the Sunday school. Mr. Sharp entered military service in June 1941, was commissioned in the Tank Destroyer Division of the Field Artillery and served as an instructor in this branch of service until the end of the war. After World War II., Mr. Sharp attended Clemson, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in agronomy. He became a Master Farmer, president of the Allendale County Farm Bureau, and a southeastern leader in certified seed production. He served on the South Carolina Agricultural Study Committee under Governors McNair and West. He was a past president of both the South Carolina Crop Improvement Association and the South Carolina Seedman's Association. Mr. Sharp was president and founder of Sharp Certified Seed, which became Sharp and Sharp Certified Seed when his son became a partner. Surviving are wife, Camille Cunningham Sharp; sister, Lois Sharp All, Tallahassee, Florida; daughter, Camille Sharp Pennington Nairn and her, husband, Alan Eben MacKenzie Nairn, Columbia; son, Don Carlos Sharp III and his wife, Julia Ann Kearse Sharp, Barnwell; grandchildren, Carl Scott Pennington, Jr., and his wife, Jill Suzanne-Johnson Pennington, East Lansing, Michigan; Dave-Sharp Pennington, Columbia, Dana Nairn Akhvlediani and her husband, Constantine Akhvlediani, Columbia and Don Carlos Sharp IV and Rachael Elizabeth Sharp, Barnwell; great-grandchildren, George Michael Akhvlediani and Alexander Akhvlediani.
