Dr. Daniel Brown Schultz, 89 CHESTER — The funeral for the Rev. Dr. Daniel Brown Schultz of 648 Ebony Lane was conducted Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Metropolitan A.M.E Zion Church with Rev. Willie Evans officiating. Presiding Elder Carl L. Glenn delivered the eulogy. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Schultz died May 24, 2001 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. Born in Waynesboro, Ga. on Nov. 21, 1911, he was the son of the late Sim and Amanda Lovett Schultz. He was a retired minister of the A.M.E. Zion Church South Carolina Conference and first pastored at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church in Augusta, Ga. He served in the South Carolina Conference, the Pee Dee Conference and the East Tennessee Conference. He was pastor of Mt. Moriah A.M.E. Zion Church in Richburg when it was rebuilt and pastored at various churches in Chester and York counties. He attended Burke County schools and attended a seminar course at Benedict College. He received an honorary Divinity degree form Free Pentecostal School in Massachusetts. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice J. Schultz; two daughters, Roslyn Briscoe of Chester and Davida Schultz of the home; a granddaughter, Courtney Amanda Briscoe of Chester and one brother, the Rev. Dr. George W. Schultz (Thelma) of Richmond, Va.
