The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Romanus are invited to attend a Funeral Mass for the former, 11 a.m., Thursday morning, July 12, 2001, in the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, Moncks Corner, S.C. Final Farewell and Commendation will be held at Plantation Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2001, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church Building Fund. Mr. Romanus was born February 2, 1930, in Utica, N.Y., a son of John Joseph Romanus and Nagy Koury Romanus. He was an Army veteran and served in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. Surviving are, his wife, Myrtle Jennings Romanus; five daughters, Karen Peek of James Island, Julia Brown of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Toni Kay Romanus of Goose Creek, Teresa Surprenant and Nita Gilbert, both of Cross; one son, Terry Lee Romanus, Jr., of Cross; one sister, Mary Chamberlain of Port St. Lucy, Fla.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
