Marshel's Wright-Donaldson Home for Funerals is in charge of the arrangements. (The Beaufort Gazette July 8, 2001) Dan Reid Dan "Bullet" Reid, 83, of Stuart Point, husband of Annie Mae Washington Reid, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Huspah Baptist Church, Gardens Corner. Burial will follow in Grays Hill Cemetery. Mr. Reid was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Beaufort County, a son of Ben and Georgia Green Reed. He was educated in Penn School. He worked for 15 years for the City of Beaufort's Water Department. He later worked as a construction worker on Parris Island. Surviving are his wife of Dale; three sons, Daniel Reid of Pineland, Benjamin Reid and Harry Reid of Dale; four daughters, Georgia Mae Reid of New York City, Mary Ann Alston of Burton, Julia Gordon and Bessie Mae Reid both of Dale; two brothers, Ben Reed of Yemassee and John Reed of New Jersey; two sisters Betsy Heyward of Stuart Point and Rebecca Delaney of Charleston; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
