Born on May 6, 1930, in Worchester, Mass., a son of the late William Plante and Iona Gladys Mayo Hachey of Summerville. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Omar Shrine Club, Ladson, VFW Post #3433 and Carolina Masonic Lodge #375. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Surviving are, wife, Lee Plante of Summerville; mother, Iona Gladys Hachey of Summerville; daughter and son-in-law, Valarie Anne and James Roberson of Summerville; granddaughters, Shelby Lauren Roberson and Kaylin Marie Roberson of Summerville; brother, Stedman Plante of Indian Lakes Estates, Fla.; sisters, Phyllis Doucette of Kittery, Maine, Judith Famorca of Summerville.
