The funeral service will be 7:30 p.m., Tuesday evening, at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be Wednesday in the family plot in Bethel Primitive Baptist Churchyard, Butler, Ga. A native of Butler, he was the son of William F . and Helen Watwood Phillips. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard during W.W.II and was a member of Midland Park Baptist Church. He is survived by his second wife, Olar; his daughter and son-in-law, Lucille (Gene) Sube; his son and daughter-in-law, William F. (Gloria) Phillips, all of North Charleston. He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The last of ten brothers and sisters, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nathalie, in November, 1981.
