He was a retired farmer and member of Midway Presbyterian Church. He was a Mason and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was married to the late Norma Mae Harrington Parker.Survivors include, two daughters, Mrs. J.W. (Mickie) Evans of Bluffton and Mrs. Hoyt (Patsie) Shuler of Sumter; two sons, James E. "Eddie" Parker of Orangeburg and Mills Cleveland "Clevie" Parker of Greenville, Tenn.; one brother, Francis Parker of Georgetown; four sisters, Addie Bell Mixson of Charleston, Fannie Mae Bramlett of Georgetown, Rosa Cobil of Conyers, Ga., and Carolyn Cumbee of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2001, in the First Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the Midway Presbyterian Church cemetery.The family will have visitation from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday evening in the home at 1244 Oakdale Road, New Zion, S.C. 29111.BROCKINGTON FUNERAL HOME, LAKE CITY, is in charge.
