Before coming to South Carolina on May 12, 2001, he resided in New Hope, Pennsylvania. He was Vice Chairman of Gould, Inc., CEO of ITE-Imperial and served on the boards of Walgreens, Carson Pirie Scott, Wallace Computer Services, Core States Bank (currently First Union) and Marymount Manhattan College. He received a B.S. from Purdue University of Chicago. In recent years he founded schools for continuing education for retired people at two colleges, Delaware Valley College and Marymount Manhattan College. He is survived by three children, William Jr., Catherine, and Mary Ellen. Also surviving are one stepdaughter, Claudia Koeze and on son-in-law, Richard Lamothe. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2001 in Christ Our King Catholic Church at 12 noon. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
