Memorial funeral services will be held Friday, June 1, 2001, at 11 a.m., in First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Ted Sherrill. Burial will be private. He was born January 9, 1918, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late James Alfred Moore and Rhoda Lambeth Moore. He was a retired retail merchant and for several years after retiring was employed at the Maryville Recycling Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Spirit of Liberty Sunday School Class. He enjoyed gardening as his hobby. Surviving are, his wife, Helen E. Moore; three sons, William L. Moore, Jr., of Georgetown, Rev. Ronald P. Moore of St. Augustine, Fla., and Stephen E. Moore of Johns Island; one daughter, Martha M. Burkehart of Jamestown, N.C.; one brother, James L. Moore of Myrtle Beach; one sister, Ruth M. Wright of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at their residence, 704 Rosemary St., Georgetown, S.C. 29440. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund , 219 Cleland St., Georgetown, S.C. 29440. GRAHAM FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
