MILLS, Joseph
Joseph Elwood Mills, 82, of Russelville, a retired foreman with 
Carolina Floral Nursery, died Monday at a North Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Hood's Chapel United 
Methodist Church. Burial, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, will be 
in the church cemetery. Mr. Mills was born June 3, 1919, in Berkeley 
County, a son of Joseph Press Mills and Laney Mixon Mills. He was a 
Protestant. Surviving are four daughters, Wilma Hammond, Gloria Conner,
Marlene Farmer and Juanita Caddell, all of Macedonia; four sons, Allen
Mills, Wayne Mills, and Donald Mills, all of Macedonia, Joseph Mills 
of Moncks Corner; sister, Ila M. Gatlin of Macedonia; 21 grandchildren;
24 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at RUSSELL FUNERAL HOME, 
Moncks Corner, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday evening. Mr. Mills 
was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Odell Mills, and a sister,

The relatives and friends of Mr. Joseph Elwood Mills are invited to 
attend his funeral service at Hood's Chapel United Methodist Church, 
Wednesday morning, July 18, 2001, at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in 
the church cemetery. Friends may call at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks
Corner, until 9 o'clock and at the church from 10 o'clock until the 
hour of service. Mr. Mills was preceded in death by a son, Raymond 
Odell Mills and a daughter, June Mills Moore. (The Post and Courier
