Pleasant, S.C., died Friday, July 27, 2001. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Earl Mayfield are invited to attend the Memorial Service of the former Wednesday afternoon, August 1, 2001, in the Summerall Chapel, The Citadel, at 4:30 o'clock. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Mr. Mayfield was born in Charlotte, N.C., a son of Earl Hickson Mayfield and Myrtle Meachum Mayfield. He was a member of Hibben United Methodist Church, a graduate of Moultrie High School, attended the University of South Carolina and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was the Director of Linen and Dry Cleaning at the Citadel. Surviving are his wife, Marijke deBoer Mayfield of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., her two children, Cybill and Erick, both of Summerville, S.C., and grandchildren, Madeleine and Camaran, one brother, Mickey Mayfield of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Roper Foundation, 316 Calhoun St., Charleston, S.C. 29401.
