Chisholm Galloway Home for Funerals is in charge. (The Beaufort Gazette July 27, 2001) James D. Mack James D. Mack, 71, of St. Helena Island, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 today at Chisholm Galloway Home for Funerals. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brick Baptist Church with burial in St. Helena Memorial Garden. Mr. Mack was born June 30, 1930, on St. Helena Island, a son of Cleveland Mack and Christina Cole Mack Wallace. He was educated in Beaufort County public schools. He was a member of Brick Baptist Church and served on the Trustee Board. He was a seafood handler at Blue Channel Seafood Corp. for 20 years and manager of the St. Helena Island SOC service station for 40 years. He retired in 1999. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Maggie Mae Haynes Mack of St. Helena Island; four daughters, Margie H. Miller of St. Helena Island, Brenda M. Wright of Lexington, Jo Ann M. Shealey of Charlotte, and Linda M. Jenkins of Grays Hill; two sons, Sr. Master Sgt. Bruce T. Mack of Sumter and James K. Mack Jr. of St. Helena Island; an adopted son, Rodney W. Williams of Beaufort; three sisters, Mary Lee Fields of St. Helena Island, Elizabeth Duval of Philadelphia, and Ann White of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, Elder Joseph Cole Sr. of St. Helena Island, Deacon Frankie Mack of Savannah, and Steve Mack Sr. of Burton; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
