Leon Litchfield, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, in Black Creek Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Kevin Hinton and Dr. Tom Guerry. Interment will be in the church cemetery, directed by the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME. Mrs. Litchfield was born September 23, 1918, in Walterboro, a daughter of the late Laurie Eugene Griffin and Laura Hiers Griffin. Mrs. Litchfield, the former "Miss Walterboro 1937" was a homemaker who along with her husband of 62 years, raised five children. She was a long-time active member of Black Creek Baptist Church and the W.M.U. Surviving besides her husband are, two sons, Johnny Litchfield of Walterboro and Danny Litchfield of Columbia, three daughters, Patsy L. Moran of Walterboro, Laurann Litchfield-Gray of Charleston and Betty L. Poe of Yemassee, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
