Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 1, 2001, Odis Odell 
Lankford, husband of Betty L. Hamon Lankford. Residence, Hanahan, S.C. 
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Odis Odell Lankford are 
invited to attend the funeral services of the former at J. HENRY STUHR,
INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL, Thursday morning, July 5, 2001, at 11 
o'clock. Interment, Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at 
STUHR'S GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL this (Tuesday) evening from 6 until 8 
o'clock. Mr. Lankford was born in Spartanburg County, S.C., on 
September 18, 1926, the son of W. Eugene Lankford and Lilly May Geddis 
Lankford. He was a retired blacksmith with the Charleston Naval Shipyard
He was a member of North Charleston Church of God, a veteran of the U.S.
Navy and the U.S. Army, a member of the North Charleston Exchange Club 
and a member of V.F.W. Post 5091. Surviving is his wife of Hanahan, 
S.C.; two brothers, Ira E. Lankford of Summerville, S.C., and Raymond 
O. Lankford of Parchman, Miss.; one sister, Lalaus L. Hamon of North 
Charleston, S.C. (The Post and Courier July 3, 2001)
