Kinghorn, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, in Candler Hospital, Savannah. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Baptist Church of Beaufort. Mrs. Kinghorn was a member of the the Baptist Church of Beaufort. She taught Sunday School there for many years. Mrs. Kinghorn was a founding member of the Jean Ribaut Garden Club and the Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club. She was a supporter of the Connie Maxwell Home for Children and the Baptist Haiti Mission. Mrs. Kinghorn was a graduate of Columbia College. Selections from her memoirs were recently published by the Writer's Discussion Group of Chapel Hill in A Generation Speaks. Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth K. Chamlee of Savannah and Dr. Katherine A. Kinghorn of Milwaukee, Wis.; two sons, James B. Kinghorn of Hatteras Island, N.C., and Norman M. Kinghorn of Beaufort; two sisters, Julie M. McCabe and Mae M. McCabe of Beaufort; a brother, Norman G. Morrall of Summerville; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family suggests that those who wish may make memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
