Kern, husband of Juanita "Nita" Davis Kern. Residence, Charleston, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Kern are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church on Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at 2 o'clock. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, this Monday between 6 and 8 o'clock. Mr. Kern was born in Jacksonville, Fla., the son of Joseph M. Kern and Adele Upchurch Kern. He was a retired Statistical Analyst from the Charleston Naval Shipyard, a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, and former President of Church Council from 1977 to 1980. He is survived by his wife of Charleston, S.C.; one brother, Joseph M. Kern of Columbia, S.C. ; and one sister, Helen K. Myers of Jacksonville, Fla.
