Residence, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. The relatives and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Rudolph Kemmerlin are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in Citadel Square Baptist Church, Monday , July 30, 2001, at 11 o'clock. Interment, Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday evening, July 29, 2001, at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, between 4 and 6 o'clock.Dr. Kemmerlin was born December 9, 1933, in Orangeburg, S.C., the son of Walter Wise Kemmerlin and Maggie Syphrett Kemmerlin. He was a graduate of Orangeburg High (1952), Clemson Unversity (1956) with a B.S. in animal husbandry, and a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine (1958). He practiced Veterinary medicine in Bamberg , and Charleston, S.C. With J.W. Sample, Jr., he co-founded Ashley River Animal Hospital, Charleston, S.C., in 1961. A member of the Rotary Club of Charleston and a Paul Harris Fellow, he also was an active member of Citadel Square Baptist Church where he served as an Adult 4 Sunday School teacher, he was an active Deacon and Former Chairman of Deacons, Pastor Search Committee, Financial Committee, and Personnel Committee. He was the Past President of the S.C. Veterinary Examiners, and Former Admissions Board Member for University of Georgia Veterinary Medical School. He also received the S.C. Veterinarian of the Year Award. He was past member of the Clemson University Board of Visitors, Clemson Alumni Association, and served as the local IPTAY Representative, and a member of Clemson in the Low Country Club. Surviving are his wife, June Collins Kemmerlin of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Rudolph H. Dolph Kemmerlin, Charleston, S.C., Karl C. Kemmerlin, Columbia, S.C.; a daughter, Cynthia Kemmerlin Nigro of Rock Hill, S.C.; two brothers, Walter Wise Kemmerlin, and Clyde Kemmerlin of Orangeburg, S.C.; five sisters, Janie Culler and Vivian Dawson of Orangeburg, S.C., Dorothy Arant and Lois Arant of North Augusta, S.C., and Ruth Wardlaw of Oklahoma City, Okla. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Rubin Kyle Kemmerlin, Lydia Kemmerlin, Julia Frances Nigro, and Paul Vincent Nigro.Memorials may be made to Citadel Square Baptist Church, 328 Meeting St., Charleston, S.C.
