Col. Lloyd E. Jones, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., died Thursday, June 27, 2001, in a local hospital. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Alelia Garland Avera Jones are invited to attend her funeral services, Monday, July 2, 2001, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, at 10:30 o'clock. Interment will follow in Beaufort National Cemetery at 2 o'clock. Friends may call at STUHR'S MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, Sunday evening, July 1, 2001, from 6 until 8 o'clock. Mrs. Jones was born in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of the late Col. Wray B. and Garland Jeffcoat Avera. She graduated from the University of Missouri and was a Retired Administrative Assistant with Aero Jet General, Inc., Washington, D.C. Surviving are her son, Wray A. Lemke of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., two daughters, Martha L. Barnes of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Hollyce J. Knight of Atlanta, Ga., one step-son, Lloyd E. Jones, III, of Toronto, Canada, and one step-daughter, Robin Jones Tripp of Ottowa, Canada, two sisters, Fay Avera Worrall of Denton, Texas, and Alice Avera Hodson of Denton, Texas. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
