Joy Missionary Baptist Church in Baltimore, with the Rev. Samuel Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow in Baltimore Cemetery. Mr. Jolly, 78, died Saturday, July 14, 2001 in Baltimore. Born in Chester County on September 16, 1922, he was a son of the late Alexander Jolly and Irene Jolly. He was a member of New Mt. Joy Missionary Baptist Church, where he was chairman of Board of Deacons, and was a former member of St. Phillips Baptist Church in Chester. He attended the public schools of Chester County and retired from Baltimore City Public Works. Survivors are his wife, Beatrice Boyd Jolly of Baltimore; five sons, Alexander Jolly, David Jolly, Sylvester Jolly, Arthur Lee Jolly and Larry Jolly, all of Baltimore; one daughter, Theresa Jolly of Baltimore; one brother, Leroy Jolly of Washington D.C.; one sister, Louise Crane of Richburg, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to the hour of service.
