Funeral will be held at 2 p.m., July 30, 2001, at Unity Baptist Church, Eutawville, S.C. Rev. S.T. Nelson will officiate. Burial in Unity Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends of the family. EUTAWVILLE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. The daughter of the late Peter Howell and Margaret Chisolm Howell, she was born on October 6, 1906, in Berkeley County, S.C., she grew up on Ervin Plantation and attended public school. At an early age she joined Unity Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her illness. She became a member of the Home Mission Organization. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Hector Jefferson in 1929. To this union two children were born who preceded her in death, George Jefferson and Mariah Wigfall.Survivors include, one adopted daughter, Lillie Mae (James) Taste of Cross, S.C.; one adopted son, Benjamin Earl Smalls Jefferson; one granddaughter, Nellie Baskell of Rosedale, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
