TITLE: Herman Hubbard, Jr SOURCE: The Post and Courier, July 31, 2001 SUBMITTED BY: The Post and Courier FORMATTED BY: Kim Grissom, July 2001 *********************************************************************************************** HUBBARD, JR., Herman KERNERSVILLE, N.C. - Mr. Herman Allen "Punk" Hubbard, Jr., age 65, died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at the Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Hubbard was born in Burke County, a son of the late Herman Allen and Edna Moses Hubbard and attended the Kernersville Wesleyan Church. He was recently retired from Freeman Millworks in Manning, S.C. He was selected as Manager of the Year at Sequoia Supply in 1982, a former member of the Kernersville Jaycees and voted Jaycee of the Year in 1969. He was an avid golfer and on August 19, 1990 shot a "Hole in One" at the Heather Hills Golf Course in Winston Salem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Hubbard and a brother, Reginald Hubbard. Surviving are his wife, Donna S. Hiatt-Hubbard of Myrtle Beach , S.C.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Clarence Rierson, of Kernersville, Lisa and Mark Llewellyn, Terri and John Carle, all of Winston Salem; two sons, Gregory Allen Hubbard and wife Colleen of Winston Salem and Donny Hiatt Hubbard of Myrtle Beach, two sisters, Pattie Cranfill and Rebecca Barrow; a brother, Roger Hubbard, all of Kernersville; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a God child. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2001, at the Kernersville Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Richard Loman, Rev. Phil Hulen and Rev. Pete Kunkle with burial to follow in the Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday , at the HAYWORTH MILLER CAIN FUNERAL HOME, KERNERSVILLE.
