Bostick Funeral Home, Ridgeland, is in charge. (The Beaufort Gazette July 24, 2001) Thomas Horton RIDGELAND - Thomas Horton, 84, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at his residence. Visitation will be 3 to 8 tonight in Bostick Funeral Home, Ridgeland. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Padgett Branch Baptist Church, Grays. Burial will be in Rockspring Baptist Church Cemetery, Grays. Mr. Horton was born Aug. 22, 1916, in Ridgeland, a son of George and Addie Jaudon Horton. He was a member of Padgett Branch Baptist Church, a Masonic Mason of Shiloh Lodge No. 92, NAACP, Hunting Club, Garden of Light Committee, a community leader for the church and his community. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Ella R. Horton of Ridgeland; a son, William Horton of Bronx, N.Y.; a daughter, Georgia Brown of Ridgeland; a brother, Sam Horton of Ridgeland; a sister, Anna Jones of Bronx; and four grandchildren.
