Hinson, 69 CHESTER – The funeral for Mrs. JoAnne S. Hinson of Palmetto Village Care Center of Chester was conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12 from Mahaffey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ray Moore officiating. Burial followed in Lancaster Memorial Park. Mrs. Hinson, 69, died Tuesday July 10, at Palmetto Village Care Center. Born in Lancaster County on Sept. 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Steele and Audrey Ballard Steele and was a former employee of Springs Industries. She is survived by her husband, John C. Hinson of Great Falls; a son and daughter-in-law, John L. and Billie Ann Hinson, daughters and sons-in-law, Wayne and Sharon Hinson Allen of Chester, Debbie Hinson Homes of Chester, and Steve and Jeannie Ray Blackmon of Lancaster; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and G.C. Fouts of Norcross, Ga., Mary and A.J. Owen of Inman, Betty and James Deadman of Allendale and Evelyn Axe of Lexington; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, Family Life Center Building Fund, 182 Pinckney Road, Chester, S.C. 29706. Mahaffey Funeral Home in Lancaster is in charge of arrangements.
