Burial followed in the Harmony Memorial Cemetery in Landover, Md. Mr. Hefley, 59, died Friday, June 15, 2001 in Washington, D.C. Born in Edgemoor on Feb. 12, 1942, Mr. Hefley was the son of the late James “Snake” Hefley and the late Mozelle Hefley. He was a member of Real Life Gospel Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. and was a former member of Big Calvary Baptist Church in Chester County. Mr. Hefley was a graduate of Finley High School in Chester. Survivors include a son, Leroy Hefley Jr.; a daughter, Isesha Hefley; three brothers, James R. Hefley, Paul A. Hefley and David Hefley; four sisters, Martha R. Caldwell, Minister Betty Jackson, Margaret Dickson and Catherine Simpson; a granddaughter; an adopted brother, Jerry Dunbar; an adopted sister, Debbie Dunbar; and four brothers-in-law, William H. Caldwell, Pastor Reginald Jackson, Pastor Harvey Dickson and Freddie L. Simpson.
