Allen Funeral Home, Ridgeland , is in charge. (The Beaufort Gazette July 24, 2001) Abraham Habersham Deacon Abraham Habersham, 89, of Camden, N.J., husband of Mother Fannie Little Habersham, died Monday, July 23, 2001, in St. Joseph Hospital, Savannah. Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today in Allen Funeral Home, Coosawhatchie. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Chapel On the Hill Holiness Church, Coosawhatchie with burial in Ferebeeville Cemetery, Switzerland, Ridgeland. Mr. Habersham was born Feb. 18, 1912, in Jasper County, a son of Samuel and Anna Young Habersham. He was educated in the Jasper County public schools. He entered the U.S. Army in 1944. He moved to Camden, N.J., where he became an agriculture supervisor and worked as a landscaper for many years. He lived in New Jersey until 1972. He returned to Ridgeland where he became an active member at Chapel on the Hill Holiness Church, Coosawhatchie and he became chairman and senior deacon serving with distinction for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Simmons Habersham. Survivors include his wife of Camden, N.J.; a daughter, Shirley Ann McCray; two sons, Jerome C. Habersham and the Rev. Levon Habersham, both of Ridgeland; a sister, Geneva Witter of Brentwood, N.Y.; seven stepdaughters, Evelyn Williams, Pearl Curtis and Bonita Aide of Camden, Yolanda Melvins of Philadelphia , Barbara Little of Lindenwood, N.J., Narma and Tersita Little of Collingswood, N.J.; four stepsons, Richard Little of Philadelphia, O'Dell Little of Myrtle Beach, and Julius Edward Jr. and Earl Little, both of Camden; 41 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
