Grooms, age 71, of 110 Melody Lane in Cayce died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home Chapel in North with Rev. Sam Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Pen Branch Cemetery near North. Mrs. Grooms was born in Woodford, a daughter of the late Daniel H. Livingston and Blanche Robinson Livingston. She was retired from Bell South Telephone Co.; a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was a member of Cayce United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, William R. Grooms of Cayce; daughters, Vicki L. Grooms of New York, N.Y.; sisters, Mrs. Alice L. Byrd of Cayce and Mrs. Danette L. Frye of Kingstree; aunt, Miss Margaret Robinson of Woodford; uncle, Wilton Robinson of Woodford. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the CULLER-MCALHANY FUNERAL HOME in North.
