She was 82. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at SMITH-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME IN ALLENDALE. Additional arrangements are incomplete at this time, but will be announced later by SMITH-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME.(The Post and Courier July 30, 2001) GOODING, Ethel Mrs. Ethel Crosby Gooding, widow of Mr. Telmac Gooding, died early Sunday morning in the Allendale County Hospital after an extended illness. She was 82. Mrs. Crosby was born in Hampton County, May 16, 1919, a daughter of the late Willie Crosby and Nancy Cook Crosby. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairfax. Survivors include, one son, Kenneth Gooding, of W. Columbia; four daughters, Linda Plumbley, of Fairfax, Nancy Chesser, of Barnwell, Hazel Mathis, of Allendale, and Lucille Weathers, of Moncks Corner; one sister, Sally Wilson of Lexington, S.C. There are 12 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Mrs. Gooding was pre-deceased by two sons, William Gooding, and Telmac Gooding, Jr. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Smith-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Sandy Run Cemetery near Hampton. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. SMITH-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME of Allendale is in charge of arrangements.
