Church, with Dr. J. Allen Derrick officiating. Burial was at Edgemoor Cemetery. Mrs. Culp, 67, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. Born in Rock Hill on June 4, 1934, Mrs. Culp was the daughter of the late Pressley Reid Sherer and Faye Rhodes Sherer. She was a retired school teacher after 30 years of service with the Chester County school system. She was an active member of Edgemoor A.R.P. Church, where she was a past president of the women of the church and a member of the choir. She was a member of the Richburg Eastern Star, the FCL Club and Springs Golden Age Club. Surviving are her husband, Charles L. Culp; three sons, Charles Richard Culp of Washington, D.C., David Reid Culp and Robert Lester Culp, both of Edgemoor; a brother, Dr. James P. Sherer of Wilmington, N.C.; a sister, Mary Sherer Cornwell of Rock Hill; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the home, 1831 Knoll Drive. Memorials may be made to the Edgemoor A.R.P. Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 108, Edgemoor, S.C. 29712 or to the American Cancer Society of York County, 339 East Main St., Rock Hill, S.C. 29730.
