Cook, 77, widow of Grover Monroe Norris, Sr., died Friday, July 27, 2001, at a Georgetown hospital.Mrs. Norris was born in Conway on November 6, 1923, a daughter of the late Jerry Monroe ?She was a high school graduate. Mrs. Norris was employed as a knitter at Oneita Knitting Mill, acting much of that time as a shop stewardess. She was instrumental in the development of her husband's construction company and spent years devoting her time to creating a loving home environment for her three children and husband. Mrs. Norris was a Baptist. Her home was always open to friends and neighbors for a good cup of coffee and a friendly greeting.Surviving are, a son, Grover Monroe Norris, Jr., of Georgetown; two daughters, Margaret Norris Burton and her husband, Bobby of Georgetown and Patsy Norris Young and her husband Donny of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Barry W. Burton and Barbara B. Moore and her husband, Bill, April Y. Anderson and Jessie Young, Jonathan M. Norris and Bradley E. Norris, all of Georgetown; a great-granddaughter, Stephanie D. Moore of Georgetown.Funeral services will be Monday, July 30, 2001, at 11 o'clock in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Hal E. Barton. Entombment will follow under the direction of the Goergetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.The family will receive friends Sunday evening at 81 Beneventum Road from 6 until 8 o'clock.The family suggests memorials to Georgetown Baptist Church, 600 David Ray Road, Georgetown, S.C. 29440.
