Commander William Thomas Collins, U.S. Navy, Ret., of Moncks Corner, S.C., died Monday at his residence. The funeral will be at 10 a.m., Thursday morning, July 5, 2001, in the chapel of DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Entombment will be at a later date in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 4, 2001. Mr. Collins was born February 1, 1928, in Slaughter, Miss., a son of George Owen Collins and Wylena McNeil Collins. He was a Navy veteran of W.W. II, Vietnam, and the Korean Conflict. He was predeceased by a wife, Nan Estell Collins and a son, Donald DeWayne Collins. Surviving are his wife, Nina Lee Taylor Collins; three daughters, Nancy Diane Taylor of Summerville, Candice Leigh Crokette of Brandon, Miss.; and Paula Mullinax of Bonneau; four sons, Thomas Michael Collins of Marietta, Ga., Nickey Taylor of Summerville, and Rock Brown and Jerry Brown, both of Moncks Corner; and 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
