Born in Seneca, he was a Retired Baptist minister and pastored at Shiloh Baptist Church for many years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, Merchant Marines, and U. S. Coast Guard, serving prior to and during World War II. He also attended the Coast Guard Academy. He was the husband of Christine Parker Clark of the home, and the son of the late Lewis Edgar and Jessie Hamilton Clark. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Barbara Clark Hutchins and her husband George E. Hutchins of Tamassee; a brother, George Hamilton Clark of Seneca; a sister, Fannie Clark of Seneca; granddaughter, Mrs. Gary (Samantha Green of Walhalla, Mrs. Michael (Leah) Collins and Ms. Edwina Hutchins, both of Greenville , Tenn.; and six great-grandchildren. Services were Friday, June 15, at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, with the Revs. Hovie Revis and Carl Pointer officiating. Burial was in Oconee Memorial Park with military honors. The pallbearers were a family friend, R.L. Nicholson, and nephews, Ken Baker, Gary Prince, George Clark, Jr. Bob Moore and Jimmy Clark. Fellow minister served as honorary escorts. Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
