TITLE: Clinton Carter SOURCE: The Post and Courier, July 18, 2001 SUBMITTED BY: The Post and Courier FORMATTED BY: Kim Grissom, July 2001 *********************************************************************************************** CARTER, Clinton ROUND O - Clinton Mazon Carter, 79, a retired blacksmith with the Charleston Naval Shipyard, died Tuesday at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, at the graveside in Live Oak Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Charles Harris and directed by the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME. Mr. Carter was born November 28, 1921, in Walterboro, a son of the late Thomas Mazon Carter and Aggie Mae Ritter Carter. He was a member of Wando Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre. Surviving are, two sons, David M. Carter of Charleston, and Mark A. Carter of Round O; two daughters, Elizabeth C. Watkins and Meta C. Boalls, both of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME.
