Prospect Road, Chester, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barron Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Phil Haynes officiating. Burial will be at Armenia United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Carr, 69, died Saturday, May 27, 2001, at his residence. Born in Gaston County, N.C. on December 30, 1931, he was a son of the late Guy Carr and the late Ada (Hill) Carr. He attended the schools of York County. He was a member of Bright Light Independent Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Carr was retired from Springs Industries. Survivors are his wife Lois C. Carr, two daughters, Debbie Melton of Chester and Neely Darline Parkins of Sumter; one son, Darrell Parkins of Clinton; three sisters, Garnell Ramsey, Elzie Lanier, and Annie Mae Clark, all of York; two brothers, James Carr of York and George Carr of Hickory Grove, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of York County, 325 South Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, S.C. 29730.
